Lettercult, a fantastic website devoted to custom typographical design, has been hard at work compiling their favourite works of 2009. From the reasonably large group on display here (well worth your time to take a look – there is some truly awesome work), they impressively managed to choose a top 10. A great place to visit when in need of some inspiration! This is a small selection of works from their “best of” lists.

Hush x Dan Baldwin = Awesome

December 14, 2009

These are two beautiful paintings from a series of collaborative works between Hush and Dan Baldwin, from an exhibition called “Don’t believe the Type” at Zero Cool gallery in London. They apparently started work on the paintings separately and then swapped, adding their own elements to the pieces – the results are magic.

Artist Profile – El Tono

December 14, 2009

I thought these works by El Tono, a French born street artist, very interesting and distinctive. He attempts to create work that contributes positively to it’s environment: “The whole point is to intrigue people, to make people reflect in some distinctive way, to produce something for people to wonder at.” You can read a detailed history about him here. First seen at We Find Wildness.
