March 2, 2010

The awesome new video for the Gorillaz latest single Stylo was released onto the web yesterday. And Bruce Willis makes an appearance! Great track too!! Click an image to go through to the video.

“Splitting the Atom” – Massive Attack

February 4, 2010

This is the latest video by Massive Attack, directed by Edouard Salier. It’s a beautifully dark piece of music that is perfectly complimented by the twisted sci-fi visuals, as the camera pans through a city getting torn apart. Click here for the full list of credits.

“Vanishing Point” by Takuya Hosogane

January 26, 2010

A beautiful and seamless interaction of image and sound in this clip by Takuya Hosogane. The song used is “Le Petit Prince” by Cubesato. More stills and video after the jump.

“Chase the Tear” by Portishead

December 14, 2009

This is a brand new track released by Portishead for Amnesty International, available as an exclusive download single from 7 digital, with all earnings going towards Amnesty’s human rights work. The track is brilliant, and I really love how intimate this video feels as it keeps panning around a small studio cluttered with equipment as the band perform. More info here.

“Bastard” by Metal on Metal

December 8, 2009

WARNING – This video is not for the faint-hearted! Directed by The Glue Society, a creative collective based in both Sydney and New York, the tension in this video just builds and builds until its shocking, tragic yet inevitable conclusion. The visuals and music really seem to enhance each other, and the use of slow motion is incredibly effective in adding to the tense atmosphere of the video. First seen at the Creative Review blog.

Phoenix – A Take Away Show

December 6, 2009

Phoenix released one of my favourite albums of the year with “Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix”, and this very cool french band return to Paris to record a few of their songs live around it’s various locales. Produced by La Blogotheque and part of an ongoing series, these 3 videos boast some absolutely lovely visuals accompanied by some beautiful live music.

“I’ll Be Gone” Video by Korb

December 3, 2009

Simple idea but beautifully brought to life by freelance motion design studio Korb. The track is by Mario Basanov & Vidis featuring Jazzu. First seen at Popwhore.

This New Technology – Midnight Juggernauts

November 30, 2009

Great track, cool trippy video, awesome band! I loved their Dystopia album and am looking forward to their follow up. Find out more about them here. Directed by Special Problems.

The Videos of Keith Schofield

November 27, 2009

I have already posted one of Keith Schofield‘s videos here already – the wonderfully 80’s Justice/Lenny Kravitz “Let Love Rule”. Now his video for Charlotte Gainsbourg (featuring Beck)’s “Heaven Can Wait” is blowing up all over the internet, and deservedly so – it’s a beautifully surreal piece of visual art. While looking for more information about him I found another video of his I thought worthy of mention – one he did for Diesel where he has taken old porn footage and attempted to make it safe for work! It has to be seen to be believed, is incredibly funny and probably NOT SFW!

The Avett Brothers vs. Jody Hill

November 27, 2009

This is the very cool music video for The Avett Brothers “Slight Figure Of Speech” directed by Jody Hill – a director whose work I love. He is behind the movies “Foot Fist Way” and “Observe & Report“, and the legendary “Eastbound and Down” TV show. For this project, he started a viral marketing campaign on YouTube, creating a channel called “The American Budget” Shopping Network. Check the rest of these videos here.
