Game Over by Kordian Lewandowskiego

March 24, 2010

This is a very clever Pop Art rendition of Michelangelo’s “La Pietà” by Kordian Lewandowskiego, featuring the iconic Nintendo characters Mario and Princess Peach. It is a beautifully realised work, handcrafted from polystyrene. More pics after the jump.

Exit Through The Gift Shop – A Banksy Film

January 25, 2010

This is the trailer for “Exit Through The Gift Shop”, a movie by infamous street artist Banksy, billed as “the world’s first street art disaster movie”. The movie premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this week, and initial reviews seem very positive. I’ve also included a great clip showcasing some of his recent work. Enjoy!

New Works by Tyler Stout

December 16, 2009

I have featured Tyler‘s work on this blog before and am a huge fan. These are a couple of new works by him that have just been released. The first is a new “The Warriors” poster commissioned by The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, located in Austin, Texas, which will be available to buy from his site. The other is part of a series of “Lost” inspired art from a number of different guest artists, of which his piece is the latest, and is due to go on sale at

“Covers” by John Paul Thurlow

December 3, 2009

This is an ongoing series of work by John Paul Thurlow that, as he says on his blog “is an hommage (six months in), an attempt to create cover art for every great magazine I own (+ a few I wish I owned)”. I love his drawing style and mark making – the whole series is very impressive – check out his blog to see the full series on display.

Artist Spotlight – Ron English

November 30, 2009

As a huge fan of the classic Pop art movement, I really like artist Ron English‘s contemporary spin – he has produced some truly iconic work. Check out his site Popaganda for more about him and the ideas behind his work – very very interesting stuff!

The Videos of Keith Schofield

November 27, 2009

I have already posted one of Keith Schofield‘s videos here already – the wonderfully 80’s Justice/Lenny Kravitz “Let Love Rule”. Now his video for Charlotte Gainsbourg (featuring Beck)’s “Heaven Can Wait” is blowing up all over the internet, and deservedly so – it’s a beautifully surreal piece of visual art. While looking for more information about him I found another video of his I thought worthy of mention – one he did for Diesel where he has taken old porn footage and attempted to make it safe for work! It has to be seen to be believed, is incredibly funny and probably NOT SFW!

70’s & 80’s Arcade Graphics

November 27, 2009

Found a cool site that has a collection of graphics and art form the early days of computer gaming called Art of the Arcade. It’s amazing how contemporary some of these graphics look. Click here to see more.

Shiny Suds Advert

November 22, 2009

This is hilarious – it starts off normal enough, but then it gets kind of weird. First seen at the excellent Iso50 blog. Video after the jump – Enjoy!

November 19, 2009

These creations are by Jean-Yves Lemoigne, made for Amusement Magazine (a gaming magazine with a difference, which I have profiled on here already). First seen at Kanye West’s Blog.
